Hip Pain
Back to Walking, Running, and Living Freely.
Hip pain can affect people of all ages and activity levels — from the weekend runner with a niggling hip flexor, to the older patient struggling with osteoarthritic hip stiffness. Whatever the cause, restricted hip movement has a knock-on effect on your whole body, including your lower back, knees, and the way you walk.
What We Treat
Hip osteoarthritis
Hip flexor and groin strains
Bursitis
How We Can Help
At Harbour, we take time to properly assess the hip — ruling out referred pain from the spine, testing joint mobility, muscle strength, and movement patterns. For certain issues we can also refer to our inhouse sonographer, Vanessa (hyperlink) to help determine the structures involved in your injury.Treatment typically combines manual therapy, targeted rehabilitation, and load management strategies. For persistent tendon-related hip pain (such as gluteal tendinopathy), shockwave therapy has excellent evidence behind it and forms an important part of our treatment toolkit.
